consistently account for more than one-fourth of all hospitalizations
statewide. After decreasing for many years, the number of maternity
and newborn discharges has increased in recent years. However, relative to the total population (hospitalizations per 1,000 population), maternity and newborn hospitalizations decreased 2 percent between 1995 and 2008. |
